Conversion Procedures from Metastock Data Format to Text Format using Metastock Downloader 8.0
 

If I have Metastock Data, how can I convert data from Metastock format into Text Format which can be used by Time Trader Pro charting software?

• You should start The Downloader from the program group of Metastock Professional
• Or, if you don't have that program, you should first download a freeware of Metastock Downloader 8.0 or above from: http://www.equis.com

• The data format is: yyyymmdd, open, high, low, close, Turnover and volume.

After installation of The Downloader of Metastock, how can I convert the metastock data into Text Format that meets the standard of Time Trader Pro?

• Please follow the procedures below:

Step 1: Start the application and select Tools - Convert

Step 2: Specify the source file type in Metastock and the source data location

Step 3: Press Options button and select Destination to specify conversion detail as below

Step 4: Go back to the Level of Convert Securities and Press OK button

Step 5: If conversion is successful, the conversion report will be shown similar to below

And the text data file will be created and the format would be as follows.  It can be read by Time Trader Pro.

• Use The Downloader of Metastock to conduct the conversion function similar to above.

• The Downloader of Metastock would be subject to upgrade or changes at the discretion of the company who owns the product.
